Privacy notes
These notes cover the KaroRide app and this project page. Who runs this website and what applies to every page is in the general privacy policy of hellmold.de.
This page
This page loads its fonts and scripts from this server only. Until my own photos are in place, a few placeholder photos are loaded from Unsplash (images.unsplash.com); for that, your browser sends its IP address to Unsplash. The page contains no analytics, advertising or payment widgets. If you switch the language, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage under hellmold_lang, so the rest of hellmold.de speaks the same language. You can delete it through your browser's site data. Nothing is sent anywhere because of it.
Hosting
When you open this page, the connection data your browser needs to send reaches the web server. The page is hosted on IONOS webspace. Details on server logs and your rights are in the general privacy policy.
KaroRide on the Karoo
The app controls the camera over Bluetooth. Your camera selection, its Bluetooth address, model, wake-up identifier and pause state are kept in the app's private storage on the Karoo. The app asks for no internet, location, media or storage permission. Videos stay on the camera; KaroRide neither uploads nor changes them. You can forget a camera in the app settings, and uninstalling removes all app data. Your videos stay on the camera.
The Insta360 Camera SDK
KaroRide uses the proprietary Insta360 Camera SDK 2.1.5. Before it starts the SDK for the first time, KaroRide shows a notice and asks for your consent on the device. Insta360's own terms and privacy policy apply to the SDK. KaroRide itself has no internet permission in this version.
Ko-fi and GitHub
Ko-fi only opens when you click the coffee link. Payments run there through the payment providers on offer, who process their own connection and payment data; with a completed payment your name and email address may be passed on to me. No payment data is entered on this page. When you follow a GitHub link, GitHub's terms and privacy notes apply.
Contact and your rights
Contact details, the person responsible and your data protection rights are listed in the imprint and the general privacy policy of hellmold.de.
